Ronald Henry Clas Sr.

Ronald Henry Clas Sr., age 75, of Meta, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born in Baltimore, Md., on September 27, 1935, son of the late Irvin and Geraldine Clas. On December 30, 1956, in Baltimore, Md., Ronald married Barbara Faye Wasden, who preceded him in death on February 5, 2007. Ronald worked at the A & P Grocery Store in Maryland as Store Manager for over 20 years and then in 1972, he and his family moved to Meta. In 1976, he owned and operated the Van Cleve Market and later from 1990 to 2005, he owned the House Cafe in Meta. He is survived by two daughters, Kim Wallace and Stephanie Burns, both of Jefferson City; one son, Ronald Clas Jr. of Meta; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The body has been cremated under the direction of Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Meta. A private family service will be held at a later date.
