John Roland Kullman, 88, of Jefferson City, died Monday, April 11, 2011, at The Madison Center, Morgantown, W. Va. Mr. Kullman was born February 2, 1923, in Cole Camp, a son of Ernest and Emma (Meyer) Kullman. He was married June 20, 1953, in Columbia, to Jane Marie Moore, who preceded him in death on June 7, 1999. A 1941 graduate of Cole Camp High School, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry Management from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1949. During World War II, Mr. Kullman served as a radioman on a B24 Bomber in the 446th Bomb Group, which flew missions over France, Germany and Austria. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Kullman worked as a forester for the Missouri Department of Conservation for 37 years from July 1949 through September 1987. A lifelong member of the Lutheran church, he belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church, Jefferson City, Missouri. Mr. Kullman is survived by his son: Greg J. Kullman, Morgantown, W. Va.; his daughter: Debra J. Kullman-DeCata, Ridgefield, Conn.; one brother: Earl J. Kullman, Sedalia; one sister: Ethel Wallen, Sedalia; and five grandchildren: Johnathan Kullman, Sarah Kullman, Matthew Kullman, Michelle DeCata and Jennifer DeCata. Friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 17, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 18, 2011, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, with Rev. Samuel Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of Mr. Kullman may be made to the Parkinson Disease Foundation.
