Mr. Leo C. Buscher, age 93 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Sunday, April 10, 2011, at the Westphalia Hills Nursing Center, Westphalia, Mo. Leo was born November 5, 1917, in Useful, Mo., the son of Frederick and Bercina Enke Buscher. He was married on October 26, 1940, in Bay, Mo., to Opal I. Schneider, who preceded him in death on August 30, 1980. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Leo was a farmer from 1941 until 1968. From 1968 until his retirement in 1982, he was employed with Von Hoffmann Press. He was a member of Central United Church of Christ. Leo loved to fish. Survivors include: two sons, Marvin L. Buscher and his fiancÈe, Sue of Osage Beach, Mo. and Ronald O. Buscher of Rich Fountain, Mo.; one sister, Jewell D. Schade of St. Louis, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Laverne I. Moeller in 2001 and her husband Albert Moeller; two daughters-in-law, Geraldine Buscher and LaDonna Buscher; two brothers, Alfred Buscher and Rudolph Buscher; and one sister, Marie Huebler. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at the Central United Church of Christ, 118 West Ashley St., Jefferson City, Mo. with the Reverend Dr. Stephen Buchholz officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Central United Church of Christ or the charity of their choice.
