Kenneth J. "Kenny" Peters, age 61 of Linn, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011, at his residence. Kenny was born July 10, 1949, in Jefferson City, a son to the late Barnhardt "BK-Skeeze" and Margaret (Keen) Peters. He was a 1967 graduate of Linn High School and an Army veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. On September 28, 1968, he was united in marriage to Paulette Kremer in Frankenstein. She survives of the home. Kenny was a truck driver for Midland Oil Company since 1991. Prior to that, he drove trucks for Temmen Transport and Stamper Feed Store. He was a member of St. George Catholic Church and enjoyed working outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren at home. In addition to his wife Paulette, he is survived by four sons, Scott and his wife Paula Peters of Linn, Jeff and his wife Tracey Peters of Bonnots Mill, Kevin Peters of Linn, and Doug and his wife Stacia Peters of Linn; two brothers, Randy and his wife Barb Peters of Crystal Lake, IL, and Mike and his wife Margie Peters of Bonnots Mill; two sisters, Sharon Backes and her husband Danny of Frankenstein, and Cathy Shepers and her husband Dale of Eugene; and seven grandchildren. Kenny is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, at Morton Chapel in Linn. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at St George Catholic Church with Fr. I.C. Medina as the celebrant. Interment will follow in St. George Cemetery with full Military Honors. Expressions of sympathy may be made payable to a charity of the donor's choice.
