Travis Dean Higgins, 31, of California, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011. He was born on February 16, 1980 in Jefferson City. He had worked as a concrete laborer for various companies including Higgins Asphalt, Mitch Arnold Foundation in California, and Heidbreder Foundation Svc. He attended California Public Schools. He is survived by his parents, Dennis Higgins and Kay Johannpeter of Jefferson City, and Tammy (Schlup) Weber and husband Allan of Jefferson City; one son, Cole Miles Higgins and his mother, Kristin Karr; one brother, Tyler Higgins and wife Vanessa of Jefferson City; one step-brother, Ryan Weber and wife Ashton; one step-sister, Nicole Weber; paternal grandmother, Virginia Higgins of California; maternal grandparents, Ed and Helen Schlup of California; step- maternal grandparents, Carl and Freda Weber; one nephew, Jordan; one step- niece, Hallie; special friend, Leann McGowen; cousins, Clint and Kelly Rogers, and Zach Riddle; and family members. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donald Higgins; and one uncle, Robert Yard. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Sanctuary in California. Officiating will be Rev. Greg Morrow and Rev. Bob Nilges. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Sanctuary in California. Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to Cole Miles Higgins Trust Fund, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
