Theresa M. Brandt

Theresa M. Brandt, age 82, of Rich Fountain, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. Theresa was born March 8, 1929, in Rich Fountain, a daughter to the late Joseph and Adelaide (Hertzing) Stumpe. On April 9, 1947, Theresa was united in marriage to Sylvester Brandt Sr. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1998. Theresa worked as a school cook and later as a nurse's aide at a nursing home. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Ann's Sodality, quilting circle and Western Catholic Union. Theresa's hobbies included quilting, sewing, gardening, canning and spending time with her family. Theresa is survived by: two sons, Sylvester Brandt Jr. of Sunrise Beach and Randy Brandt of Rich Fountain; four daughters, Eileen Koenigsfeld and her husband Leon of Frankenstein, Shirley Morfeld and her husband Paul of Westphalia, Debbie Haslag and her husband Donnie of Linn and Darlene Fennewald and her husband Duane of Westphalia; one sister, Matilda Dunn of New Bloomfield; 20 grandchildren and 24 great- grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Theresa was preceded in death by three infant sons; one brother; one sister; one grandson, Matthew Brandt; one great-grandson, Logan Brandt; and two daughters-in-law, Bonnie Brandt and Jeanette Brandt. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 4, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Phil Niekamp as the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Sacred Heart Church or School.
