Gene Hagenhoff, 67, of Centertown, passed away Friday, April 1, 2011, at his residence. He was born on April 22, 1943 in Meta, the son of Leo John and Laura (Rackers) Hagenhoff, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on October 3, 1970, in Maryís Home, to Patricia Sosnowski, who survives of the home. He was a graduate of Fatima High School. He worked as a truck driver for Leonard Barnhart Excavating and also for Derry Brownfield Farms. He was a member of St. Martins Catholic Church. He loved horses, trains, bluegrass music, watching the Big Joe Polka Show and the Cumberland Highlanders on RFD-TV. He is survived by one son, Jared (Debbie) Hagenhoff of California; one daughter, Erin (Brad) Buchanan of Lake St. Louis; three brothers, Frank (Linda) Hagenhoff, Rick (Anita) Hagenhoff, and Lenny Hagenhoff; one sister, Rozella (Harry) Porting; five grandchildren, Harley, Jordyn, Grant, Aden, and Brenden. He was preceded in death by brothers Donald, Robert, Delmar, and Virgil Hagenhoff. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Martins Catholic Church in St. Martins. Burial will be in St. Martins Catholic Cemetery. Officiating will be Fr. Eddie Schmidt. Visitation will also be held on Monday, April 4, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. ñ 12:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to either the St. Martins Parish Expansion Fund, or to Hospice Compassus, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018.
