Cora Lea Lister, 68, of California, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at her residence. She was born August 24, 1942, in Salem, the daughter of Vernon P. and Anna (Murray) Kettinger, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on August 25, 1963, in Salem, to Louis Eddie Lister, who preceded her in death on May 26, 2008. She was a graduate of Salem High School and Central Missouri State Teacher's College. She began her teaching career in Salem, then moved on to the Latham School, and retired from California Schools. After retirement, she taught at the Tipton Correctional Facility and worked part-time at Dillard's. She was a member of the California United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Chris Lister and wife Paula of Hallsville; two daughters, Theresa Parman and husband Brian of Boonville, and Lisa Bleich and husband Duane of California; one sister, Patsy Prugh and husband Vince of St. Clair; nine grandchildren, Taylor and Carlie Bleich, Janna Mackay, Kaila, Hailey, Matthew, Christopher Logan, Quinton, and Hainna Lister. She was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Kettinger. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Salem. Officiating will be Rev. Linda Pagel. Visitation will also be held on Friday, April 1, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Latham School Rebuild, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
