Darla Cady

Darla Janelle Patrick-Cady, 40, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Saturday, October 16, 2010, at her home. She was born July 26, 1970, in Washington, Ind., the daughter of James Joseph and Kathy May Dean Patrick. She was a graduate of South Knox High School in Vincennes, Ind. Darla was an administrative assistant with Krieger and Krieger Accountants and Tax Consultants and was a member of the House of Refuge Church, both in Jefferson City. She was a published poet who enjoyed writing, reading, drawing and spending time with her two children and their dog, Lily. Survivors include two children, Michael Sebastian Cady Jr. and Melody Kristen Cady, both of Jefferson City, Mo.; her father, James Joseph Patrick (Jeni Love) of Vincennes, Ind.; her stepfather, Jim Westfall of Vincennes, Ind.; two brothers, Jody Patrick and Brian Patrick, both of Vincennes, Ind.; one step-sister, Angie Westfall of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and special friends, Christine Palmer-Clinkenbeard of Houston, Texas, and Tonya Harper of Vincennes, Ind. She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathy May Westfall; one son, Matthew Austin Cady; and a step-brother, Doug Westfall. Services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, Jefferson City, Mo., with Rev. Alfonse Webb officiating. Services will also be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, October 21, 2010, at the First Baptist Church, Vincennes, Ind., with Rev. David Easter officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, Ind. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Melody Kristen Cady Educational Fund.
