Anna Hatton

Mrs. Anna Lucille Hatton, age 97 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010, at Heisinger Bluffs. Lucille was born on January 8, 1913, in Renick, Mo., the daughter of Morton and Grace Cottingham Houghton. A resident of the Central Missouri area for most of her life, Lucille was a 1932 graduate of Columbia College with an Associate in Arts degree. She was employed with Selective Service for over 30 years, retiring as a statewide coordinator. She was a 50 year plus member of the First United Methodist Church, a docent for the Jefferson City Historical Museum, and a past president of the Zonta Club. Survivors include, her son, George L. Stamper Sr. and his wife Jackie of Lake Ozark, Mo.; five grandchildren, Leesa Ingalls and her husband Kerry of Moorpark, Calif., Laura Nunnelly and her husband Ron of Santa Fe, N.M., George L. Stamper Jr. and his wife Annie of Monument, Colo., Geoffrey Stamper and his wife Carin of Yardley, Pa. and Leslie Stamper of Santa Fe, N.M.; two step-grandchildren, Ronald Graves and his wife Deborah of Columbia, Mo. and Robert Graves and his wife Stacey of St. Louis, Mo.; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Barbara Grace Stamper. A private family service and interment will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, Mid-Missouri Chapter, 2400 Bluff Creek Dr. Columbia, MO. 65201 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
