Doris Closson

Mrs. Doris M. Closson, age 88 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Saturday, October 9, 2010, at the Villa Marie Nursing Center. Doris was born November 30, 1921 in Brookfield, Mo., the daughter of James and Henrietta Birgee. She was married on May 1, 1948 in Independence, Mo., to A.F. Closson. Survivors include: her husband, A.F. "Slim" Closson; one son, Jim Closson and his wife Ginny of Marshall, Mo.; three daughters, Karen Kay Closson of Jefferson City, Mo., Shirley Mueller of Eureka, Mo., and Betty Morrison and her husband Travis of Jefferson City, Mo.; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert John Closson in 1954. Private family services will be conducted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Villa Marie Nursing Center, 1030 Edmonds St., Jefferson City, MO 65109.
