Norman B. Erhart, age 83, of Mexico, formerly of Lohman, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at the Mo. Veterans Home in Mexico. He was born July 5, 1927, in St. Louis, the son of Allison and Francis Loesch Erhart, both of whom preceded him in death. He was united in marriage November 12, 1949, at Stringtown, to Valeda Loesch, who survives of the home. Norman was a member of the United States Army, in which he was Chief Switchboard Operator, and also worked in the supply warehouse, while in Germany and France during World War II. After returning home from the war, Norman worked 15 years for International Shoe Co. in Vandalia until they relocated. He then worked for Harbison Walker Refractories for 29 years where he aquired the nickname, Nose. He was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Stringtown. He was also a member of NRA; and Aluminum, Brick and Clay Workers International Union, Local 853. Norman liked to watch western and war movies, fishing, and taking the family on camping trips. He loved his family very much and he will be sadly missed. Survivors include: his wife, Valeda of the home; one son, Daryl Erhart with his wife Angela R. of Centralia; one daughter, Debra Rodden with her husband Brian L. of Macon; one brother, Joe Erhart with his wife Helen of St. Peters; and one sister, Eileen Cox with her husband Marion of Wellsville; six grandchildren, Lucas Peery, Benjamin Diederich, Carolina Lewallen, Kaitlyn Erhart, Andrew Erhart, and Lillianna Erhart.; six great- grandchildren; and 16 nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Norman was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Erhart, and one sister, Wanda Brady. Visitation will be Friday, October 8, 2010, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Weber Funeral Home in Russellville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 9, 2010, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Stringtown with Pastor Warren Brandt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Johns Lutheran Church or the St. Johns Cemetery Fund. Arrangements are under the direction of Weber Funeral Home in Russellville. weberfuneralhome.net
