Phillip Wayne Burlingame 92, of California, Mo., passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Capital Region Medical Center, Jefferson City. He was born July 31, 1918, in Moniteau County, the son of Charles and Rebecca Angeline (Pruitt) Burlingame, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on January 4, 1941, in Bagnell, Mo. to Mary Louise Hohman who preceded him in death in 1993. He was a lifelong resident of California. He loved to hunt and fish and for many years, he would go deer hunting in Colorado with his friends. He attended the Norman School south of California. He worked as a tractor mechanic for several years for Carl Tising Tractor Company and Henry Tractor. He owned and operated Burlingame's Fishing Lakes for many years. After retiring, he worked as a part time janitor for the California School District. He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church for over 50 years. He is survived by five sons, Charles (Ruth) Burlingame of Tipton, Kenneth (Sue) Burlingame of Jamestown, Larry (Lynn Rae) Burlingame of Russellville, Glen (Linda) Burlingame and Gary Burlingame both of California Mo.; two daughters, Doris Imhoff of Centertown, and Linda Derendinger of California, Mo. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Jason Burlingame; two sons-in-law, Paul Joseph Imhoff and Kenneth William Derendinger Sr.; one daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann (Rowles) Burlingame; four sisters, Effie Mae Burlingame, Mamie Ruth Crawford, Alice Alberta Bolin and Catherine Wilma Barbour; two brothers, Hillard Gale Burlingame and Melvin Kenneth Burlingame; three brothers-in-law, Dorsey Crawford, Franklin Lafayette Bolin and Raymond Estes Barbour and one sister-in-law, Lilly Ruth (Talley) Burlingame. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 30, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel funeral home in California. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 1, at 11:00 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Sappington Community Chapel Cemetery, near California, Mo. Officiating will be Rev. Josh Hartley.
