Angela Ortbals

Angela Henrietta "Angie" Ortbals, 82, of Koeltztown, passed away Monday, November 15, 2010, in the Moniteau Care Center, California. Mrs. Ortbals had been in failing health for some time. She was born July 19, 1928, at Freeburg, a daughter of Liborius and Dora Marie (Schoenauer) Holterman. Mrs. Ortbals was united in marriage on April 27, 1948, at Westphalia, to Rudolph Steve "Rudy" Ortbals and to this union three children were born. Mrs. Ortbals was a member of the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown and through the years had been employed in several factories, retiring from Chesebrough-Ponds, Jefferson City in 1991, after 23 years. She was a devoted housewife and homemaker and was always diligent in providing for the needs of her family. Those left to mourn the passing of Mrs. Ortbals include: two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Bruna Ortbals, Argyle and Eugene and Jeanne Ortbals, Jefferson City; one daughter, Jo Ann Ortbals, Jefferson City; one sister and brother-in-law, Rita and Harry Buersmeyer, Westphalia; five grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan, Michael, Philip and wife, Safire and Sara Ortbals; two great-grandchildren, Ezra and Jude Ortbals, and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on October 14, 2007; her father on April 30, 1990, her mother on July 31, 1985, and two brothers, Virgil and Fred Holterman. Funeral services under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes will be conducted for Mrs. Ortbals at 11:00 a.m. Friday morning, November 19, 2010, in the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown, with Rev. Msgr. Marion Makarewicz officiating. Interment will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery, Koeltztown. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m., Thursday, November 18, 2010, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and 10 - 11 a.m., Friday, November 19, 2010, all in the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Koeltztown. Masses are preferred by the family with envelopes available at the Church or at the Vienna Office of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
