Betty Schneider

Mrs. Betty L. Schneider, age 84 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Sunday, November 14, 2010, at the Capital Region Medical Center. Betty was born November 22, 1925, in Guthrie, Mo., the daughter of Claude Nichols and Mary Elizabeth Yancey Mueller. She was married on February 23, 1948, in Jefferson City, Mo. to John N. Schneider. A life long resident of the central Missouri area, Betty graduated from New Bloomfield High School. A homemaker, Betty had been employed with the Exchange National Bank and the Missouri State Legislature. She was a member of Central United Church of Christ. Betty was a wonderful cook and she enjoyed sharing this love with her children, grandchildren, and cousins. Her kitchen was the place to stop for a mid-morning break or a late night snack. She was most famous for her angel food cakes and long is the list of friends whose birthdays were remembered with one. She lived her last years at Heisinger Bluffs and appreciated the loving care that she received as well as the friendships that she was blessed with. Survivors include: her husband of 62 years, John Schneider; two daughters, Mary Beth Alberts of Dallas, Texas and Becky Weingart and her husband Jim of Broomfield, Colorado; four grandchildren, Laura Mountjoy and her husband Brian, John Alberts and his wife Jeanne, C2C Margaret Weingart, and Joe Weingart; two great-grandchildren, Mary Katherine Mountjoy and Brendan Mountjoy. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be at Central United Church of Christ from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010, at the Central United Church of Christ with the Reverend Dr. Stephen Buchholz officiating. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Riverview Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Central United Church of Christ.
