Mrs. Janice S. Duden-hoeffer, age 68 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Capital Regional Medical Center. Janice was born December 12, 1941, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Josiah Owen and Margaret N. Woodland Burkett. She was united in marriage on February 1, 1964, in Jefferson City, to Charles G. Dudenhoeffer Jr., who survives at the home. After graduating from Jefferson City High School, Janice attended college in Kansas City, Mo. She returned to Jefferson City where she was employed by Exchange National Bank and met her husband Charles. She later worked for the Missouri State Legislature for several years. She was most proud of her chosen career path as a devoted homemaker to her husband and children where they enjoyed an immaculately clean home, delicious home-cooked meals, and unending care, love and affection. During her children's elementary school years, she served as room mother for each grade providing fun activities and snacks for the children in the class who enjoyed her fun-loving personality. She also assisted the school administration with various non-teaching activities. Her pastimes included: reading, arts and crafts, floral arrangements, and following her Jefferson City Jays, MU Tigers, and St. Louis Cardinals, where she was an avid critic of coaching when warranted. Spending time with her family and grandchildren was her most favorite pastime. Even though she suffered through the pains of rheumatoid arthritis for many years, she was never one to complain as she was always more worried about caring for the others around her. Even during her bout with cancer, she still managed to take amazing care of her family. She was an active and devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church. Other survivors include: daughter, Deann Branson (Jim) of Jefferson City; sons, Matt Dudenhoeffer of Wildwood, Mo. and Doug Dudenhoeffer (Terra) of Overland Park, Kan.; sister, JoAnn Cardwell (Jack) of Greenwood, Ind.; brother, Gary Anderson (Barb) of Des Moines, Iowa; grandchildren, Nikki and Gavin Branson of Jefferson City; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her step-father and mother, Maurice "Sid" and Margaret Sitton; her father, Josiah Owen Burkett; and her brother and sister-in-law, William T. and Dorothy Burkett. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday, with a prayer service to begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Freeman Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Reverend Brendan Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Capital Region Medical Center Foundation (P.O.
