Nancy Lee Rackers, 76, of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, May 28, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center. She was born August 30, 1933, in St. Louis, the daughter of the late Leo and Edna (Maddock) Brettschneider. She was a graduate of St. Peter's Catholic High School. On November 24, 1955, Nancy was united in marriage in Jefferson City, to James Rackers, who preceded her in death on May 15, 2006. Nancy worked for the Missouri State House of Representatives as an Administrative Assistant. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and enjoyed the Lake of the Ozarks with family and friends. She is survived by two sons: Dennis Rackers of Scottsdale, Arizona, and John Rackers and wife Suzanne of St. Louis; one brother: Mike Brettschneider and wife Roberta of Jefferson City; and six grandchildren: Jeni Frontera, Mandi Rackers, Nathan Klindt, Mallory Klindt, Michael Rackers, and Alex Rackers. She was also preceded in death by two children: Timothy Rackers and Maureen Klindt. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at St. Peter Catholic Church, with Monsignor Donald W. Lammers officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Helias Foundation.
