Mrs. Nadia Craver

Mrs. Nadia A. Craver, age 82 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at her home. Nadia was born December 17, 1927, in California, Mo., the daughter of Edgar and Ola Mae Kindle Palmer. She was married on November 5, 1950, in California, Mo., to Charles H. Craver who preceded her in death on October 4, 2007. A life long resident of the central Missouri area, Nadia was a 1945 graduate of California High School. She was employed as an Executive Secretary with the Missouri Division of Health from 1945 until 1965. She was also employed as a bookkeeper with the Missouri Air Conservation Commission, the Missouri Bankers Association, the Independent Insurance Agents of Missouri, and the Missouri Personnel Division until her retirement in 1981. Nadia was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the First United Methodist Bell Choir, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the National Button Society, Missouri Button Society, the Morning Music Club, the Cherry Street Workers, and Meadow Lake Acres Country Club. She enjoyed cross stitching and button collecting. Survivors include: her cousin and life long best friend, Arley Palmer of Jefferson City, Mo.; one niece, Veryleta Ann Palmer Skates of the state of Colorado; and one great nephew and two great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Veryl Guy Palmer in 1938. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Mark Dumas officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum of Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
