Violet Berry

Violet Irmalee Berry, 66, of Salem, passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010, in St. Louis. She was born December 3, 1943, in Darian. On August 25, 1961, Irmalee Hill was united in marriage to Boyd Berry and to this marriage five children were born. Irma was a 40 year member of the Upper Parker Community Church and recently became a member of the Dry Fork Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, feeding her hummingbirds, and spending time with her family (especially her grandchildren). She was an employee of Wal-Mart for several years. Survivors include her husband: Boyd Berry of Salem; her mother: Geraldine Hill of Salem; five children: Theresa Adey and husband Randy of Licking, Tena Lewis and husband Ronny of Licking, Tammie Medley and husband Jeff of Salem, Amy Glenn and husband Brian of Salem, Matthew Berry and wife Michelle of Salem; one sister: Shirley Cook of Salem; one brother: Don Hill and wife JoAnn of Chamois; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her father: Gib Hill; brother: Leroy Hill; father and mother-in-law: Fred and Myrtle Berry; and brother-in-law: Larry Cook. A funeral service for Irmalee Berry was held May 19 in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with Bro. Joe Hubbs officiating. Special recorded musical selections were played. Interment was in the Green Forest Cemetery.
