Michael James Schafermeyer, 31, of Baltimore, Maryland, formerly of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2010, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was born September 8, 1978, in Jefferson City, Missouri. Michael attended grade school in Columbia, Missouri, and attended Helias High School in Jefferson City. He earned his associates degree from Maplewood Community College in St. Louis, Missouri, and also attended Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Missouri, and St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. On January 8, 2009, he was united in marriage in Rockville, Maryland, to Michelle Reichling, who survives at their home. Michael spent most of his adult life living in St. Louis, Missouri. He was an artist, hockey player, and musician, and was formerly a member of the band "Lojic". He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan, and loved his many pets. Michael attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He is also survived by his mother: Dr. Michele T. LePage of Jefferson City; his father: Dr. Ken Schafermeyer of Jefferson City; step-brother: Dylan Morgan of Lake Ozark; and brother: Shawn Scheff of Granite City, Minnesota; maternal grandparents: Jim and Shirley LePage of Jefferson City; paternal grandmother: Delores Miller of St. Louis; seven uncles and aunts: Tom LePage, Jonathan LePage, Lucy LePage and Angela LePage, all of Jefferson City, Jeffrey LePage (wife Deana) of Wasilla, Alaska, Kirk Schafermeyer of DeSoto, Kim Schafermeyer of Lexington, Kentucky, Karen Newell of St. Louis; and a number of cousins who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: Eric Schafermeyer. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, where a Rosary will be held at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Fr. Patrick G. Dolan officiating. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
