Mrs. Sarah Beard

Mrs. Sarah June Beard, age 82 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Capital Region Medical Center. June was born on April 22, 1928, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Hershel and Hattie Cruce Palsgrove. She was married in 1955, in Jacksonville, Ill. to Ralph Beard who preceded her in death on March 28, 1992. June was employed with the Bell Telephone System from 1948 until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, a volunteer for Hospice, and a member of Pioneers of America. June enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include: her daughter, Patricia Davis and husband John; four grandchildren, Jason Davis and wife Leah, Mark Davis and wife Joan, Sarah Jacobs and husband Matthew and Mary Rebecca Davis; five great-grandchildren, A.J. Davis, Jackson Davis, Austin Davis, Jordan Jacobs and Lauren Davis. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Visitation will take place before the service from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Thursday. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010, in the Freeman Chapel with Monsignor Donald Lammers officiating. Interment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday May 21, 2010, at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Jacksonville, Ill. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Peter Catholic School.
