Ms. Linda Hill

Ms. Linda K. Hill, age 57 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center. Ms. Hill was born on September 21, 1952 in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Edward "Chief" and Virginia Wadley Hill. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Linda attended Jefferson City High School and was a majorette with the Jefferson City Jay Band. She was employed with the Missouri Department of Revenue for several years until ill health forced her retirement. Linda was a member of the Chickasaw Nation and a granddaughter of original enrollee Lizzie Columbus Hill. She attended Old Paths Baptist Church for several years. Linda was always known as a caring person and mother to everyone. She loved having people to her home and looking after all her family and friends. Survivors include: one daughter, Jessica Jackson and her husband John of Holts Summit; three sisters, Betty Williams of Osage Beach, Mo., Laurie Hill of Jefferson City, Mo., and Lisa Hill Durham and her husband Chris of Jefferson City, Mo.; three brothers, Edward "Chiefie" Hill of Columbia, Mo., James Hill and his wife Beth of Jefferson City, Mo., and John Pat Hill of Lincoln, Neb.; two grandchildren, Briana Jackson and Lucas Hill; and niece Lonni Humphrey, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was loved by all. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenny Opal; one brother, Mike Hill; and one nephew, Dexter Rodden. Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Friday with a private Native American service to be held immediately before the visitation. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 14, 2010, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Allen Golden officiating. Private graveside services and interment will be conducted at Hart Hill Cemetery in Holts Summit, Mo.
