Caren Amend

Caren J. Amend, age 49 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Sunday, March 28, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center. Caren was born January 7, 1961, in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Michael S. and Ora A. Huckstep Langstaff. Caren attended Alta Loma High School in Los Angeles, California. A resident of the central Missouri area for the past 17 years, Caren had been employed as a waitress at the Jefferson City Country Club, a bartender at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2693, but most recently, she was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, collecting Cherish Bears, country music, and dancing. Survivors include: her son, Eric Amend and his wife Rachel of Jefferson City, Mo.; her fiancÈ, David Cundiff of Jefferson City, Mo.; her father, Michael S. Langstaff and his wife Luella of Mack, Colorado; one sister, Lora Lee Wright and her husband Chris of Las Vegas, Nevada; one brother, Michael Langstaff Jr. and his wife Joy of Townsend, Montana. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ora A. Langstaff, in 1979. Private family services will be conducted at a later time. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Samaritan Center. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
