Letha Linneman

Letha Marie Linneman, 86, of Salisbury, Mo., died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the home of her daughter in Jefferson City. She was born February 13, 1924, in Forest Green, Mo., the daughter of the late Walter and Minnie Renne Imgarten. She was married September 21, 1946, in Forest Green, to Vernon Paul Linneman, who survives. A 1942 graduate of Glasgow High School, Mrs. Linneman was employed in earlier years as a Sales Correspondent with Fleishman's Yeast Co., Kansas City, Mo.; assisted her husband in Vernon's Photography Studio in Salisbury; and served as a legal secretary for William Nivert, Jr., Attorney-at-Law, Glasgow, Mo. She worked as the County Office Assistant for the USDA Farmers Home Administration in Keytesville, Mo., and was the third generation owner of her family's farm in Chariton County, Mo. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Salisbury, and was an accomplished seamstress and talented in the unique needle art of Thread Painting. An avid reader, she also enjoyed writing and Victorian antiques. Her friends loved her for her quick wit, sense of humor, and independent thinking. Other survivors include one daughter, Kristin J. (Gary) Van De Velde, Jefferson City; and two grandchildren, Paige L. (Captain Dr. Joel) Brockmeyer, Evans, Ga., and Shannon R. Van De Velde and her fiancÈ, Bradley Troesser, both of Jefferson City. Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Salem Lutheran Church, Salisbury, with the Rev. Laurence Carlson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
