Elmer Woehrer (Veteran)

Elmer John Woehrer, age 78, of Centertown, passed away Monday, March 23, 2010, at his home. He was born May 5, 1931, in Lohman, the son of Henry Joseph and Lorene Johanna Jungmeyer Woehrer, both of whom preceded him in death. He attended Mt. Pleasant and Centertown schools. Elmer served in Korean Conflict with the United States Marine Corps from 1952 to 1954. Elmer enjoyed being a lifelong farmer. He will be sadly missed. Survivors include: one brother, Howard Woehrer with his wife Carol of Centertown; two sisters, Gertrude M. Viethof Fenton and Shirley Ann Hetherington with her husband Don of Kirkwood; eight nieces and one nephew. Elmer was preceded in death along with his parents by one brother-in-law, Vester Vieth, and one niece, Deborah Lynn Vieth. Visitation will be Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Weber Funeral Home in Russellville, with memorial services to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Edward Merckel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church Perpetual Cemetery Fund.
