Randolph Bexten

Randolph Ben Bexten, 69, of Westphalia, died Friday, March 19, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born February 25, 1941, in Westphalia, the son of the late Leo and Agnes C. Baumhoer Bexten. He was united in marriage on November 7, 1964, in Westphalia, to Marilyn Katherine Falter, who survives at the home. Randolph retired from Central Dairy after 30 years of service as a route salesman. He was also employed with DeLong's Inc. for 10 years, and helped at Bexten's Service Station in Westphalia. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, and the Westphalia Lions Club. Randolph enjoyed Cardinal baseball, football, playing rummy and checkers, fishing, and squirrel hunting. He loved to play pranks on friends and family. He loved and enjoyed spending time on the family farm with his grandchildren. Other survivors include: four children, Tim (Joyce) Bexten, Westphalia, Diane (Joe) Grothoff, Loose Creek, Jeff Bexten, Loose Creek, Janice (Matt) Libbert, Taos; six grandchildren, Spencer Bexten, Logan Bexten, Taylor Bexten, Lucas Grothoff, Morgan Grothoff, Lauren Libbert; three sisters, Arlene (Clarence) Heckman, Wardsville, Dorothy (Keith) Birge, Wardsville, Pauline (Don) Amsinger, Osage Beach; one brother, Tom (Mary) Bexten, Hoquiam, Wash.; and three sisters-in-law, Barbara Bexten, Hoquiam, Wash., Bernice Bexten, Westphalia, and Ann Bexten, Westphalia. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Jim Bexten, Albert Bexten, Richard Bexten, Stanley Bexten; and his father and mother-in-law, Alphonse and Lucille Falter. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, with Rev. Mark S. Smith officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:30-7:30 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church, P.O.
