Mary Catherine Green Stratman, 78, of Sedalia, formerly of Jefferson City, died Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Four Seasons Living Center in Sedalia. She was born on August 29, 1931, in Westphalia, Mo., the daughter of the late August Hubert and Agnes Johanna Mengwasser Boessen. She was united in marriage on June 23, 1953, in Jefferson City, to Sterling Leon Green who preceded her in death on October 14, 1982. On October 27, 1984, in Jefferson City, she married Herman Henry Stratman who survives in Vienna, Mo. Mrs. Stratman worked for West Side Market in Montgomery City, Dixon's Discount in Jefferson City, and for Chesebrough-Ponds, where she retired after 17 years on November 17, 1991, in Jefferson City. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, and Western Catholic Union. Other survivors include: five children, Sterling (Sue) Green Jr., LaMonte, Mo; Daniel (Susan) Green, Gladstone, Mo.; Donna (Lee) Green-Townsend, Cross Creek, Fla.; Stanley (Barbara) Green, North Richland, Texas.; M. Denise Green, St. Augustine, Fla.; five step-children, Felix (Shelly) Stratman, Vienna, Mo.; Linda Stratman, Liberty, Mo.; Kay (Fred) Ragan, Vienna, Mo.; Michael Stratman, Vienna, Mo.; Cindy (Bryan) Rollins, Liberty, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; six step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Frances (Paul) Laux, Jefferson City. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Aurelia Boessen, Hildegarde Boessen, and Agnes Schulte, and three brothers, Joseph Boessen, August Boessen, and Elmer Boessen. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Benjamin E. Nwosu officiating. Burial will be in Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:30-7 p.m. Monday at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Cathedral of St. Joseph, 2305 W.
