Marie Schubert

Mrs. Marie H. Schubert, age 92 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Capital Region Medical Center. Marie was born November 4, 1917 in Osage Bluff, Mo., the daughter of Arthur and Rosa Brenner Jacobs. She was married on July 10, 1937, in California, Mo., to Clarence P. "Speed" Schubert, who preceded her in death on October 15, 1999. A homemaker, Marie was a lifelong resident of the Honey Creek area. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Honey Creek and a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church Ladies Aid. Marie enjoyed gardening, quilting, and playing bingo. Survivors include: two daughters, Doris M. Schroer of Jefferson City, Mo. and Mary K. Messer and her husband Bert of Russellville, Mo.; six grandchildren, Michael Schroer and his wife Susan, Lisa Hart and her husband Kevin, Donna Lonas and her husband Jonathan, Mona Porter and her husband Travis, Deborah Belt and her husband Randy, and Mark Messer and his fiancee, Joyce Rockers; two daughter-in-laws, Darlene Schubert and Louise Schubert; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three children, Harold A. Schubert, David J. Schubert, and Deloris R. Schubert; and three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Honey Creek with the Reverend Jeffrey Schanbacher officiating. Interment will be at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Honey Creek. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday and at Immanuel Lutheran Church from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Immanuel Lutheran School or the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
