Edward Walker, 80, of Rocky Mount, died Monday, March 15, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Care Center in Jefferson City. Patrick was born on May 3, 1929, in Lesterville, the son of the late James P. and Fay (Hurt) Walker. He is survived by sons: Richard Walker and his fiancÃˆe Tabatha Bell, Steven and wife Karen Walker; daughter: Paula and husband Steven Carlson; brother: Jim and wife Jane Walker; and beloved granddaughter: Caitlan Walker. Patrick lived a full life, the song “My Way” was much like his philosophy for living his life. He served his country in the Navy during World War II, worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad for 20 years and eventually transitioning into the Auto Industry. Originally from St. Louis, he relocated to Jefferson City in 1969 to work for Riley’s Chevrolet. He lovingly, as a single parent, raised his daughter Paula in Jefferson City. Over the past 12 years, Patrick enjoyed living on the lake, where he often fished from his dock. He was an avid fisherman, NASCAR enthusiast, and die hard Cardinal fan. He will lovingly be remembered and always missed by his family for his quick wit and kind heart. Visitation will be held 10:00 n 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 19, at Phillips Funeral Home of Eldon, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. also on Friday with Rev. Michael Keith officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverview Cemetery in Jefferson City. Full military honors will be provided at the graveside. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
