Ruby Maddox

Ruby C. Maddox, age 80, of Linn, passed away Friday, March 12, 2010, at her residence after a long illness. Ruby was born February 25, 1930, in Olean, Mo., a daughter to the late Fred J. and Zona (Sullens) Hader. On December 22, 1956, Ruby was united in marriage to John A. Maddox in Cedar City. He survives of the home. They moved to Linn in 1970. Ruby was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, gardening, canning and cooking for her family. In addition to her husband, Ruby is survived by three sons, John W. and his wife Victoria Maddox of Chamois, Arthur L. Maddox and Travis A. Maddox both of Linn; six daughters, Zona Sue Whitehurse of Boonville, Grace Williams and her husband Kenneth of Elkland, Betty Rutledge of Jefferson City, Hope Maddox and Nancy Jennings both of Linn and Janice Riley of Swiss; one brother, Orville and his wife Velva Hader of Hamilton; nine grandchildren; six great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the Morton Chapel in Linn. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2010, at the Morton Chapel with Rev. Norman Dierking officiating. Interment will follow in the Useful Cemetery.
