Richard Veltrop Jr.

Mr. Richard L. Veltrop Jr., age 37 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Saturday, March 6, 2010, after an automobile accident. Richard was born July 13, 1972, in Jefferson City, Mo., the son of Richard L. Sr. and Sharon Hoffman Veltrop. He was married on June 7, 2002, in Jefferson City to Shannon Pryor. A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Richard was a 1990 graduate of Fatima High School in Westphalia, Mo. He was employed in the construction industry. Survivors include: his wife, Shannon Veltrop; three daughters, Rachel Veltrop, Nicole Veltrop, and Madison Veltrop, all of the home; one son, Coty Veltrop of the home; his mother and step-father, Sharon and Jim Brandt of Bonnots Mill, Mo.; one sister, Tina Pischoff and her husband Matthew of St. Thomas, Mo.; one brother, Jeff Veltrop of Jefferson City, Mo. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard L. Veltrop Sr. A visitation and celebration of life will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, in the Freeman Chapel. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Veltrop Children Educational Fund. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
