Noma Myrene Scherr, age 83, of Springfield, passed away Friday, March 5, 2010, at her home. Noma was born December 10, 1926 in Elston, Mo., the daughter of Elzie Owen and Beulah Lillian Wade Smith. She was married to John L. Scherr, who preceded her in death. She was formerly employed by the Tweedie Shoe Company and the Department of Agriculture. She is survived by two sons, Patrick Scherr, Springfield and Steve Scherr, Jefferson City; a daughter, Judy Scherr, Springfield; a sister, Mary Ellen Coots, Jefferson City; six grandchildren, Chad Scherr, New York City, N.Y., Renee Scherr and Todd Scherr, Jefferson City, Mo., Troy Scherr, Mobile, Ala., Adam Scherr and wife Traci, Holts Summit, Mo., and Brendan Scherr, Rich Fountain, Mo.; and four great- grandchildren, Alison, Madelyn, Addyson and Allyson. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Dale, Carl, Guy, Louie, Ray and Harold Smith; and sisters, Norma Hartley and Eula Smith. A visitation followed by a prayer service will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, 2010, in Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:15 p.m. in Resurrection Cemetery under the direction of Gorman-Scharpf Brentwood Chapel, Springfield.
