Mildred Monroe

Mrs. Mildred H. Monroe, age 92, of New Bloomfield, passed away Friday, March 5, 2010, at her home surrounded by loved ones. Mildred was born in Versailles, on September 19, 1917, the daughter of Robert and Maude Parker, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married on December 23, 1962, to Earl A. Monroe who preceded her in death on August 28, 1987. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Jefferson City, and loved being visited by her church friends. She is survived by two children: Glen “Sonny” Jewett and wife June of Rowlett, Texas, and Wanda J. Clevenger of New Bloomfield; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren; five brothers: Edward H. Parker, Richard E. Parker, Gordon T. Parker, Paul G. Parker and Larry H. Parker; two sisters: Betty J. Willard and Mary I. Medlin. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Joann Kelsey; one son-in-law: James O. Clevenger; and one grandson: Dennis Smith. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the First Assembly of God in Jefferson City, on Tuesday, March 9. Memorials are suggested to the Victory Junction Gang for disabled children.
