Ruby Roedel Cordrey, 90, of Prairie Home, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Tipton Oaks Manor. Ruby was born in Jamestown, Mo. on August 20, 1919, the daughter of Lewis and Alma (Cofer) Wingate, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married in Moniteau County on August 20, 1936, to Harry L. Roedel, who preceded her in death on January 10, 1980. She was married on March 19, 1988, to Raymond Cordrey, who preceded her in death on September 26, 1994. She worked as a Postmistress for the United States Postal Service, and was a member of Moniteau Advent Evangelical Church. She was also a member of many civic organizations in Prairie Home. She is survived by one son, David Roedel of Eldon, Mo.; one daughter, Linda McClanahan and husband Don of Jefferson City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Monty (Paula) McClanahan, Pamela (Bill) Roedel Goff, Jennifer (Gordon) Roedel Sorrells, and Jeff Roedel; seven great-grandchildren, Chad McClanahan, Cody Goff, Neena Goff, Bret Goff, Mack Sorrells, Jolene Sorrells, Josh Batye; and one great-great-granddaughter, Emma Batye. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, Mo. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Boonville, Mo. Officiating will be Rev. Lewis Odneal. Visitation will also be on Friday, March 5, 2010, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
