Mary Dawdy

Mrs. Mary Ann Dawdy, age 93 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Capital Region Medical Center. Mary Ann was born June 13, 1916 in Jefferson City, Mo., the daughter of Joseph M. and Martha E. Yount Hutinger. She was married on November 14, 1936, in Cedar City, Mo. to Howard Dawdy, who preceded her in death on November 4, 1979. A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, Mary Ann was a 1934 graduate of Jefferson City High School. A homemaker, she was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Holts Summit, Mo. Survivors include: one son, Wayne Dawdy and his wife Sandy of Jefferson City, Mo.; one daughter-in-law, Peggy Dawdy of Jefferson City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Sherry Fischer and her husband Brent of Jefferson City, Mo., Mike Dawdy and his wife Lisa of Overland Park, Kan., and Mark Dawdy and his wife Lisa of Jefferson City, Mo.; eight great- grandchildren, Chelsea Fischer, Caleb Fischer, Elisabeth Dawdy, Matthew Dawdy, Joshua Dawdy, Abby Dawdy, Britin Dawdy, and Blaire Dawdy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Donald Dawdy, on April 30, 2008. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 5, 2010, in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend John Dowdy officiating. Interment will be at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Boone County, Mo. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Cedar Grove Baptist Church.
