John Fredrick Klos, age 80, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at his home from cancer. He was born September 19, 1929 in St. Louis, the son of Fred Klos and Lucille Klos. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was an avid antique car collector. Later he served the central Missouri area for 56 years as a successful retail jeweler. He was married to Dr. Delores (Dee) John on February 28, 1988, in Long Boat Key Florida. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Marion Jones of Topeka, Kan.; son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Patty Klos of Florence, Ala.; and son and daughter-in-law, Read and Allison Klos of Huntsville, Ala.; step-daughter, Terri John of Shamong, N.J.; step-sons, Mike John of Monroe, La. and James Fenton of Nashville, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and personal friend, Beverly Payne of Jefferson City. Personal donations can be made to Friends of the Jefferson City Animal Shelter. The family would like to express their deepest apprecation to Beverly Payne and Linda Kroll for their loving, devoted attention to John. In lieu of flowers and a traditional service, donations can be made to the Friends of Jefferson City Animal Shelter. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life at the Jefferson City Country Club on Wednesday, June 30, from 4-6 p.m.
