Dixie Allee

Dixie R. Allee, age 94, of California, died Friday, June 25, 2010, at Moniteau Care Center in California. She was born February 5, 1916, the daughter of Waid and Florence (Hutchison) Gist, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married April 1, 1934, in Clarksburg, to Walter Leland Allee, who preceded her in death on September 26, 1984. She was a homemaker and member of Main Street Baptist Church in California, where she helped with the nursery, funeral meals, and Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed taking care of her children and cooking. She is survived by two sons, James Allee of Kansas City and David L. Allee of California; seven daughters, Dolores Clifford of Belton, Donna Kramer and Mary Sue Hill, both of Blue Springs, Janice Cerra of St. Charles, Anita Baker of California, Kathy Bixler of Tipton, and Debbie Less of California; one brother, A.W. Gist of Independence; one sister, Lotis Newkirk of North Kansas City; 21 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Carolyn McKillip. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. at Main Street Baptist Church in California. Burial will be in Flag Springs Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Eddie Schoeneberg. Visitation will also be on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at Main Street Baptist Church. Memorials are suggested to Main Street Baptist Church, 303 W. Main, California, MO 65018. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California.
