Anna Fast

Anna May Fast, 88, of California, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010, at her residence. She was born July 30, 1921, in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Charles S. and Mary (Kaiser) Alexander, both of whom preceded her in death. She was married November 12, 1938 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to William Fast Sr., who preceded her in death on August 20, 1992. She retired in 1978 from Chesebrough Ponds, where she worked as a machine operator. Anna was of the Lutheran faith, and enjoyed crocheting, bird watching, crossword puzzles, cooking and baking. Survivors include: three sons, William (Diane) Fast Jr. of Tucson, Ariz., Daniel (Betty) Fast of Jefferson City, and Ernie (Malinda) Fast of California; seven daughters, Anna May (Robert) Martin of Boonville, Elaine (Robert) Morris of Milstadt, Ill., Rosemary (Clay) Fletcher, Therese (John) Guymon and Corliss (John) Hassanabad, all of California, Monica (Tom) Smith of Jefferson City, Alice (John) Riegel of Taos; one daughter-in-law, Chun Chi Fast of Bethalto, Ill.; 32 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Fast Sr. and John Fast, and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 28, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California. Burial will be in Annunciation Catholic Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Martin Hoyer. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 27, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. n 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Crippled Children's Fund, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018.
