Cletus Edwin Goetz, 80, of Jefferson City, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center. He was born May 7, 1930, in Jefferson City, a son of Mathias and Matilda Kempker Goetz. He attended Immanuel Lutheran School at Honey Creek. Cletus was a cattle farmer, and worked as a carpenter for Thoenen Construction, Harvey Hagner and other local builders. He also owned and operated Goetz Construction, which focused on home remodeling. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church at Honey Creek. He loved playing music on a variety of instruments, especially the fiddle and guitar. During the 1940's and 1950's he played live music on the radio in Fulton and Jefferson City. He enjoyed coon hunting and spending time with his family. Survivors include four children: Bob Goetz (Dianne) of Mary's Home, Mike Goetz (Kathy) of Henley, Becky (Fred) Kolb of Russellville, Laurie (Randy) Werdehausen of Holts Summit; two sisters: Lorene Innes of Hammond, Ind., Frieda Siebeneck of Jefferson City; 16 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five sisters: Clara Miller, Helen Andres, Alma Goetz, Hilda Cochtrell, Agnes Pistel; and two brothers: Elmer Goetz and Alfred Goetz. Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Honey Creek, where services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeffrey Schanbacher officiating. Interment will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Rehabilitation Services for the Blind or Immanuel Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 W.
