Elizabeth "Liz" Pearl Pelchat, 49, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, June 10, 2010, at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born July 20, 1960, in Michigan to Betty Lou Cottrell. She attended school and grew up in Lansing, Michigan. On October 31, 1991, Liz was united in marriage in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Russell Warren Knehans, who survives at their home. Elizabeth was a homemaker and an excellent cook. She had an incredible talent at needlepoint, she loved going on float trips down the Current River. Elizabeth gained a strong love for animals while growing up on the family farm in Michigan. She is survived by her mother, Betty Lou Cottrell of Holts Summit; one son, Joseph Keith Pelchat of Jefferson City; one sister, Mary Ann DeRosa (John) of Holts Summit; grandmother, Mary Livingston Smith of Jefferson City; mother-in-law, Chris Schambach (Ron) Holts Summit; one niece, Kaleigh, and one nephew, Tanner. She was preceded in death by her brother, Billy Wager. Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Skiles officiating. Burial will follow in Bull Cemetery near Holts Summit.
