Charles Addison Ball, age 73, of Versailles, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 8, 1937, at the home place in Versailles, the son of Addison and Hazel Charlene Walkup Ball. He attended Ball and Bethel grade schools and in 1955 he graduated from the Versailles High School. He was employed by Versailles Motor Company and Banner Feed Company in Barnett. After 40 years of service, he retired from Kidwell-Garber, Inc. as a bookkeeper. He was united in marriage on May 22, 1959, at the Versailles United Methodist Church, to Dorthy Mae Nolting. In addition to his wife, Dorthy, he is survived by two daughters, Teresa Ann Cloud and husband Terry of Nixa, and Pamela Kay Harwell and husband Danny of Ozark; two grandchildren, Justin E. Harwell and Derek A. Harwell; his sister, Shirley Ann Ball of Kansas City; his brother, Marvin E. Ball and wife Sue of Versailles; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Geraldine Ball. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 13, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Barry Fielder officiating. Interment will follow in the Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Versailles United Methodist Church.
