Martha Sanning

Mrs. Martha M. Sanning, age 80 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at her home. She was born July 23, 1930, in St. Elizabeth, Mo., the daughter of Frank and Sophia Brenneke Lueckenhoff. She was married October 13, 1951, in St. Elizabeth, Mo., to Norman G. Sanning, who preceded her in death on November 1, 2005. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Martha attended school in St. Elizabeth. A homemaker, Martha and Norman owned and operated Sanning Appliance Company for 41 years until her retirement in 1996. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and was a volunteer with the Samaritan Center, Meals on Wheels, and at St. Mary's Health Center. Martha enjoyed being with her family and playing cards. Survivors include: one daughter, Patricia Lyles and her husband Mike of Shawnee, Kan.; two sons, Donnie Sanning and his former wife C. DeAnn of Tuscumbia, Mo. and Dave Sanning and his wife Elizabeth of Gladstone, Ill.; two brothers, Al Lueckenhoff and his wife Nordelle of Jefferson City, Mo. and James Lueckenhoff and his wife Betty of St. Elizabeth, Mo.; two sisters, Alma Blomberg of St. Anthony, Mo. and Marie Dwight of Jefferson City, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Lyles Warden and her husband Bo, Erin Lyles Evans and her husband Sean, Drew Sanning, Sarah Sanning Crowell and her husband Matt, Jessica Sanning Billingsley and her husband Donny, Jacob Sanning, and Samuel Sanning; six great-grandchildren, Ethan Warden, Dalton Warden, Cole Evans, John Patrick Evans, Taylor Billingsley and Hayden Billingsley. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Joe Lueckenhoff, Herman Lueckenhoff, and Robert Lueckenhoff, and two sisters, Martina Morff and Genevieve Kimball. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service to be conducted at 4:30 p.m. in the Freeman Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, at Immaculate Conception Church with Monsignor David Cox officiating. Interment will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
