Rachel Ann (Bell) Purdy, 40, of Eugene, died on Monday, July 26, 2010, in Jefferson City after a long battle with cancer. She was born on November 27, 1969, in Tuscumbia, the daughter of Chuck Bell and Nancy (Groose) Kempker. She was a homemaker. She loved to cook and collect cookbooks. She was an avid participant in Relay for Life. She was a devoted Mother and Grandmother. Survivors include: two daughters, Brittany Ann Purdy of Eugene and Jessica Taylor of Brazito; two sons, Derek Purdy and Michael Taylor, both of Eugene; father, Chuck Bell of Tuscumbia; mother, Nancy Kempker of Eugene; grandparents, Homer and Pauline Bell of Tuscumbia, a fiancÈ, Anthony E. Golden of Eugene; one sister, Rebecca Jones of Jefferson City; one brother, Chad Bell of Tuscumbia; two grandchildren, Kylie Johannes and Jayden Taylor; nephews; uncles and aunts. Visitation will be between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 30, 2010, at the Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon. Funeral services will be immediately following with Rev. Buena Huffman officiating. Interment will be in the Eugene Cemetery in Eugene. Memorials for Rachel may be given In Care of the Family. Arrangements are under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon.
