Richard Hubert Schulte, 62, of Jefferson City, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at Capital Region Medical Center. He was born November 5, 1947, in Jefferson City, the son of the late Lorence Herman and Clara Ann Mertens Schulte. He was united in marriage on June 17, 1967, in Jefferson City, to Lindy Kay Heckman, who resides at the home. Richard dearly loved the farm he was raised and worked on his whole life. Richard also worked at Algoa Correctional Facility. He was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, United Sportsman Club, and was a former member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph Men's Association. Richard enjoyed deer hunting on his farm, fishing, raising cattle, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. His greatest love in life was his wife, children, and grandchildren. Other survivors include: six children, Janelle (Anthony) Wilson, Holts Summit, Larry (Leslye) Schulte, Jefferson City, Karen (Bryan) Zang, Rolla, Leanne (Brian) Lorts, Jefferson City, Gina (Brandon) Bailey, Centertown, and Brian (Sheila) Schulte, Jefferson City; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Doerhoff, Mary's Home; two brothers, George (Susie) Schulte, Jefferson City, and Edward (Judy) Schulte, Westphalia; and his parents-in-law, John and Mary Lou Heckman, Westphalia. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Bax. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 29, 2010, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Rev. Benjamin E. Nwosu officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the St. Joseph Cathedral School, 2303 West Main St., Jefferson City, MO 65109.
