Milton R. Leslie, age 83, of Jefferson City, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010, in Jefferson City. He was born March 25, 1927, in Spring Garden, the son of Clarence Roy and Maggie (Clay) Leslie. He retired from Von-Hoffmann Press as a Teamster. He was also employed at the Missouri State Penitentiary for 17 years and for Ralston Purina for six years. He did volunteer work after he retired. He was a "Person You Should Know" on KRCG. He donated food to the Samaritan Center in Jefferson City along with numerous other philanthropic endeavors. He was a volunteer campaign worker for the Democratic Party. He had a passion for fixing tube-type radios and enjoyed old radio programs. Survivors include: nephews, Gerald and JoAnn Leslie and Billy and Susan Kopko; great-nephews, John Leslie, Shawn Leslie, and Nicholas Kopko; and great-nieces, Serena Swab, Michelle Morris, Anna Kopko, and Elaine Kopko. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Lansford, Juanita (Leslie) Kopko, and Emma Leslie. Visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, at the Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon, with graveside funeral services following at 10:15 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Eldon, with Minister Gordon Bond officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Samaritan Center.
