Patricia Ann "Patty" Miles, age 52, of Russellville, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at her home. She was born February 27, 1958, in Jefferson City, a daughter of Henry J. and Louise Bruning Steinman. On November 27, 1976, at St. Martins Catholic Church, Patty was united in marriage to Marshall Miles, who survives at their home. She was a 1976 graduate of Cole Co R-I High School in Russellville. Patty was employed as a Legal Secretary for the Missouri Department of Revenue from 1977-1993. From 1993-2007, she worked as an Administrative Secretary for Legislative Research, retiring for health reasons in September of 2008. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church at Stringtown. Patty stayed busy quilting and working in the garden. She enjoyed the times she could go camping and fishing. Lately she passed the time birdwatching and being with her little dog, Reuben. However, her greatest enjoyment came from the time she could spend with her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Gwen Miles Griffith and husband Michael of Wardsville; Kara Miles Risse of Jefferson City and Clayton Miles of Russellville; her mother, Louise Steinman of Russellville; three brothers, James Steinman and wife Mary of Canton, Connecticut; Jerry Steinman and wife Shelley and David Steinman and wife Debra all of Russellville; one sister, Cathy Welch and husband Brian of Jefferson City; four grandchildren, Gabe and Isabelle Griffith and Layla and Asher Risse, also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Patty was preceded in death by her father, Henry Steinman. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, at the St. Johns Lutheran Church at Stringtown with Pastor Warren Brandt officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Russellville. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Patty Miles Grandchildren's Education Fund or the SSM Hospice.
