Kevin Matheson, 30, of Jefferson City, died Friday, July 16, 2010, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born February 5, 1980, in Jefferson City. He was united in marriage on April 8, 2000, in St. Louis to Kathleen Sweeney Matheson who survives at the home. Kevin was a graduate of St. Charles High School in St. Charles, Missouri. He worked for the Missouri Department of Revenue in the Personal Tax Division. He was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He loved hunting, fishing and camping, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his two children. He was a devoted father and husband. Along with his wife Kate, he is survived by his two children: Kayla "Princess" Matheson and Trenton "Bubba" Matheson both of the home; mother and step-father: Sandra and Terry Wadley of Taos; one brother: Jeremy Levi Matheson, of St. Charles, Mo.; one half sister: Ashley Wadley of Taos; maternal grandparents: Joan and Oscar Branson of Taos; mother-in-law; Barbara Bergquist (Ronald) of Dallas, Texas; father-in-law, Brian Sweeney (Pamela) of St. Louis, Mo.; one aunt, two uncles, one nephew and numerous cousins. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at the Taos Knights of Columbus Hall, where a prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. Wayne Boyer officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Kevin Matheson Children Educational Fund.
