Laura Walther

Mrs. Laura A. Walther, age 76 years, of New Bloomfield, Mo., passed away Friday, July 16, 2010, at her home. Laura was born on October 27, 1933, in Morrison, Mo., a daughter of Albert and Nellie Cain Weissenbach, both deceased. She was married on April 27, 1973, in Fulton, Mo. to Raymond John Walther who preceded her in death on March 30, 1999. A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Laura was the Housekeeping Supervisor at St. Mary's Health Center for 22 years, retiring in May 1999. She was a member of Circle 5 at Trinity Lutheran Church, the Red Hatters, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie 2693 and the Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Roy Sone Post 1003. She loved making crafts and ceramics along with playing cards and games. Survivors include: three daughters, Wanda Atterberry of Jefferson City, Mo., Sharie White and her husband Chet of Jefferson City, Mo. and Connie Less and her husband Randy of Russellville, Mo.; two brothers, Albert Weissenbach and his wife Eve of Lancaster, Calif. and Delphus Weissenbach and his wife Gayle of Leavenworth, Kan.; five grandchildren, Lea Ann Kruger, Michelle Becker, Joni Lexa, Calleb Lallement and Cameron Lallement.; eight great-grandchildren, Ashlea Clark, Sean Lawson, Kaylea Lawson, Jeffery Robinson, Abby Becker, Kyra Becker, Hannah Aggus and Branden Aggus.; and one great-great-grandchild, Kylea Lawson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Mary V. Haeffner on August 29, 1990. Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Monday. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2010, in the Freeman Chapel with Reverend John Hobratschk officiating. A private graveside service will be conducted at Riverview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Assn. or the American Diabetes Assn.
