Mr. C. M. "Bob" Scrivner, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010, at his home. Bob was born in Russellville, Mo. the son of Rado and Iva Boaz Scrivner. He was married on January 15, 1950, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Gladys M. Hager. A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Bob graduated from Russellville High School and the Jefferson City Junior College. He served as a lieutenant in the United States Navy during World War II. Bob organized two insurance companies, World Security Life Insurance Company and Jefferson Life Insurance Company. A licensed real estate broker, he also developed several subdivisions in Jefferson City and Holts Summit. He was a member of the Central United Church of Christ; a life member of the American Legion, Roscoe Enloe Post 5; the Russellville Lodge No. 90, A.F. & A.M.; the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Columbia; and the Moolah Temple reception committee, St. Louis, Mo. Bob was an avid golfer and a charter member of Meadow Lake Acres Country Club. Survivors include: his wife of 60 years, Gladys Scrivner; one brother, Loren Scrivner of Overland Park, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bob donated his remains to the University of Missouri Dept. of Anatomy for educational and scientific research. A private family service will be conducted at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Central United Church of Christ or the Shriners Hospital for Children, St. Louis, Mo.
