Forrest L. Bishop, age 69, of Eldon, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010, at his residence near Eldon. He was born on February 1, 1941, in Eldon, the son of the late Herschel L. and Lorraine Josephine (Bilyeu) Bishop. He was married on May 14, 1960, in Aurora Springs to Rhonda (Messer) Bishop, who survives at the home. He was employed for 40 years for Carpenters Local 945. He was ordained a Baptist Deacon in September 1979. He was a member of the Old Time Gospel Church. He was a Sunday School Superintendent. He was a song leader for 17 years at the Blue Springs Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed camping and playing the guitar. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rhonda Bishop of the home; two sons, Kirk D. Bishop and his wife Laura, and Jason A. Bishop and his wife Brenda, both of Eldon; four grandchildren, Amber, Cody, Derek, and Justin Bishop; and one brother, Tex Bishop of Eldon. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Buck Bishop; and one sister, Geraldine Wall. Funeral service will be held today, at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank McGuire officiating. Interment will be in Enloe Cemetary near Russelville. Memorials are suggested to The American Diabetes Association or to the Old Time Gospel Church.
